nVision is the research and development wing of the Narayana Nethralaya Foundation, the not-for-profit charitable arm of Narayana Nethralaya; one of India’s leading super-specialty eye care institutions based in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
It hosts cutting-edge research facilities, including molecular diagnostics, ocular stem cell research, genetic studies, and ocular gene therapy laboratories. The institute focuses on developing novel diagnostics and therapies while bridging laboratory discoveries with clinical applications.
GROW (Genes, Repair and Regeneration in Ophthalmic Workstation) is our dedicated biomedical research arm, focused on advancing basic and translational science in eye diseases. GROW harnesses extensive clinical data to drive hypothesis-driven investigations into the molecular mechanisms underlying vision impairment and ocular disorders. The laboratory’s work spans multiple domains, with the long-term goal of developing novel diagnostics, biomarkers, and therapeutic strategies that can be translated from bench to clinic.
IBMS (Imaging, Biomechanics and Mathematical Modelling Solutions Lab) integrates advanced ocular imaging, biomechanical analysis, and computational modelling to better understand the physical and structural behaviour of the eye in health and disease. IBMS applies quantitative imaging techniques, biomechanical measurements, and mathematical modelling to interpret how tissues such as the cornea respond to physiological forces and surgical interventions. This multidisciplinary approach supports both fundamental research and the development of improved clinical assessment tools.
